Presentation assistant

Your script follows your voice.

Import your PowerPoint or PDF, write notes for each slide, and present from a full-screen teleprompter. Turn on the smart prompter and it listens as you speak, highlights the sentence you’re on and turns the page when you finish. When questions start, switch to Q&A: each question appears in English with a Chinese translation, and one click suggests an answer you can say out loud.

Quick answerPresentation assistant

Can UniKnow help me give a presentation in English?

Yes. The presentation assistant is a full-screen teleprompter built for class presentations: import a PPT, PPTX or PDF and write your own notes for each slide. When you present, your notes fill the screen, with previews of the current and next slide beside them. Turn on the smart prompter and it listens through your microphone, highlights the sentence you’re on, and moves to the next slide three seconds after you finish one. When the Q&A starts, switch to Q&A mode: each question is transcribed in English with a Chinese translation, and “One-click answer” drafts a bilingual reply from your notes. You write the script — it doesn’t write it for you.

01 · Get ready

Ready to present in three steps

  1. 1. Import your slides

PDFs import directly, one image per slide. PPT and PPTX files are converted to PDF first — automatically on a Mac with LibreOffice.

  2. 2. Write notes for each slide

Thumbnails run down the left with a check on every slide that has notes, and “Notes 8/12” at the top shows how many are left.

  3. 3. Go full screen

Open the teleprompter and run through it once. When you’re ready, turn on the smart prompter and rehearse for real.

PowerPoint files are converted to PDF before import. On a Mac with LibreOffice (free and open source) installed, that happens automatically. On Windows, or on a Mac without LibreOffice, export a PDF from PowerPoint or Keynote and import that. Speaker notes already in your PowerPoint aren’t brought in.
02 · Your notes

The script is in your own words.

The presentation assistant doesn’t write your script. You write the notes for each slide, or paste them in. Its job is to keep you from blanking on stage: your words are right in front of you, and you can see what the next slide looks like. Want to tighten your wording first? Revise it in UniMind’s writing canvas, then paste it back.

Notes
Let me walk you through how we collected the data. We surveyed 214 students across four faculties in week 6. Each person rated six coffee brands on price, taste and how sustainable they seemed. Then we ran a conjoint analysis to see which attribute actually drove their choice.

On stage: prompt, follow, answer.

  1. In full-screen mode your notes fill the middle of the screen, with the current and next slide on the right and the slide number, timer and progress bar along the top. Paging, the timer and exit all have keys. Set the text size anywhere from 16 to 72, or turn on auto-scroll and let your notes roll up at the speed you choose.

  2. Turn on the smart prompter and it transcribes your English as you speak, matching it against your notes sentence by sentence. The sentence you’re on lights up and scrolls to the middle of the screen; three seconds after you finish a slide, it moves to the next one. Lose your place for more than three seconds and it shows the line you were about to say.

  3. When questions start, click Q&A in the top bar and UniKnow switches to far-field listening, which suits questions from across a classroom. Each sentence appears in English with a Chinese translation underneath. Click “One-click answer” and it drafts one or two sentences you can say out loud, based on your notes for the current slide and the two on either side, plus the last 10 lines of the Q&A.

Presentation assistant FAQ

Which files can I import?

PDFs import directly. PPT and PPTX files need converting to PDF first: on a Mac with LibreOffice installed, that happens automatically. On Windows, or on a Mac without LibreOffice, export a PDF from PowerPoint or Keynote and import that.

Each slide is imported as an image, so animations and videos aren’t kept.

Are the speaker notes in my PowerPoint imported?

No. Every slide starts with empty notes after import — write them in the editor, or paste your existing notes in.

Will it write my script for me?

No. The presentation assistant doesn’t generate scripts; the words are yours. If you want to polish your wording, you can revise it in UniMind’s writing canvas and paste it back — as long as your course allows that use of AI.

Do I have to read my notes word for word?

No. It matches on the key words in each sentence, so it keeps up if you rephrase or skip a line or two. When you reach the last sentence on a slide, it waits three seconds before turning the page.

Can I write my notes in Chinese?

The teleprompter works with notes in any language, with manual page turns and auto-scroll. The smart prompter recognizes and matches English, so it’s meant for English scripts.

How does Q&A mode work?

When questions start, click Q&A in the top bar — the smart prompter pauses. Every question appears in English and Chinese. When you want help, click “One-click answer”; when you’re done, click “Back to speech” to return to your notes.

What does it use up?

Listening with the smart prompter or in Q&A mode uses transcription minutes, from the same balance as live lecture transcription. Each one-click answer uses 1 AI credit. The Chinese translations don’t count.

Where are my presentations stored?

On this computer, inside UniKnow — they don’t sync to the cloud. On a different computer, import them again.

Does it work on Windows?

Yes, the presentation assistant is on both macOS and Windows. On Windows, export your slides to PDF first, then import the PDF.

Take it on stage for your next presentation.

Install the app, import your slides, write your notes and do a run-through in full-screen mode.
